In order to avoid this problem, you can simply turn off this safety feature by pressing and holding down the trip meter for 10 seconds. You will know that the feature has been turned off when the “SOS” text on the dashboard goes away.

If you ever need to use the SOS call for any reason, you can simply turn it back on by following the same procedure. Remember to always keep this feature turned off unless you absolutely need it, as it can quickly drain your battery.

Why does it need to be turned off?

The BMW safety feature is meant to be an added precaution for drivers who may not understand the mechanics of their cars. This feature can be very useful if it prompts you to press and hold the brake before accelerating, even when you intend on accelerating normally. However, in most situations, this “safety” feature will cause more harm than good. For example, if you’re stuck in traffic and need to use the accelerator pedal normally, this feature will activate and cause your car to emit an SOS call.

If you’re not sure how to turn off this feature or have any other questions about it, be sure to ask your BMW dealer or a trusted mechanic. They will be able to answer your questions and help you be rid of this troublesome safety feature.

What happens if you accidentally press the SOS button?

If you happen to press the SOS button on your BMW by accident, don’t worry. You can easily turn it off by following the same procedure as described above. However, if you continue to have problems with this button or any other features on your car, be sure to take it to a trusted mechanic for help. They will be able to fix the problem and be sure your car is safe for you and your family. Remember to always keep this feature turned off unless you absolutely need it, as it can quickly drain your battery.
