Fence lizards are omnivores. They like to forage two times a day, mainly on insects, but sometimes they might feed on fruits and vegetables. They are also names grey lizards, fence swifts, and prairie lizards. They are mostly found in Oklahoma, North America, and in most of the terrestrial habitat. They like to live in rotting logs, rock piles, forest edges, and stumps, etc. The average lifespan of eastern fence lizards is not known, but it’s not more than 5 years. Currently, they have minor threats, so they have a safe and stable population.

Eastern fence lizards are sexually dimorphic, males have a different physical appearance as compared to female lizards, they have less distinct markings on the body and have solid brown skin color, but color may vary according to temperate. They can scratch and bite but can be kept as pets in homes, but a most suitable place to house them is a closed jar or container full of sand, with a few rocks, and must be mite-free. They can grow up to 7 inches in length and enjoy warm and dry weather.

In their natural habitat, Fence lizards eat, moths, grasshoppers, spiders, bees, beetles, monarch caterpillars and stink bugs, etc. Western fence lizards mostly like to snatch insects from the ground like ants and other slow crawling insects.
