Do not use cleaning products with abrasive properties on porcelain because they could scratch.

Make sure that the pumice stone is moist prior to scraping it.

Avoid bleach because bleach and urine can create a poisonous gas. Additionally, bleach may etch porcelain if it is left on for too long.

Because of the vertical nature of urinals, the idea of soaking the stain in a solution over long periods of time is not as viable as staining of sinks and bathtubs. Therefore, an approach that is manual is preferred.

Change the line of intake in case the stain is rusty; else, the issue will recur and ruin all the hard work.

Remove rust stains by using an unwet pumice stone. Pumice is stronger than rust, but it is softer than porcelain. This means that you can use it to scrape away corrosion without the risk of scratching the porcelain of the urinal. Pumice is a highly effective stain remover without the need for harsh chemicals.

Remove water stains caused by hard water using borax in a paste along with lemon juice. When you do not add too many lemon juices, the mixture forms a paste that can stick to the walls that run vertically through the urinal. Don’t apply the paste with your naked hands. Allow it to sit until 15 min prior to washing. Another less toxic option is to place paper towels that have been soaked in vinegar white on the wall of the urinal for over 15 mins. Pumice stones are also efficient in removing hard water stains.

Make use of a pet urine remover to get rid of urine stains that are too difficult to remove with the standard toilet bowl cleaner. These solutions contain an enzyme that can break down biological staining. The pumice stone can also be effective in eliminating urine stains.

Make the urinal shine again with auto-wax paste and a window cleaner, such as Windex.
