Short and straight are the only requirements for a wood stove pipe. Eighty percent or more of it must be on the vertical side. Only one or two 90-degree angles should be included in the design if it is absolutely necessary. As long as the horizontal part is less than a quarter from the linear foot, it is acceptable.
