Round gobies are a type of freshwater fish that prefers brackish water. Round Goby Fish eat a lot of food. Mussels can account for up to 60% of their diet in some areas. Juveniles and eggs of other fish are also eaten. They prey on zebra mussels, other Great Lakes exotic from the same native region, in the Great Lakes. Goby Fish also eat insects which mainly include bug larvae and aquatic insects.

Carnivores, omnivores, and zooplanktivorous are all types of gobies. However, carnivores make up the majority of them. Meat is still their main source of nutrition.
