Epsom salt works by dissolving clogs in toilets, dislodging them, and emptying the waste pipe via chemical interaction between the mineral and water. As with chemical cleansers, you can place around a cup of the salts in the toilet bowl and let it on for a few minutes before flushing.

It is possible to combine salts with vinegar or baking soda to unclog your pipes. Consider the following while trying to figure out a way to use salt to clear a clogged toilet. If you do not have Epsom salt, normal table salt or rock salt will suffice. They can also react with reactive chemicals like baking soda or vinegar. Additionally, it may work well with hot water. Both of these criteria are discussed below.

While both salts are good in cleaning the drains, table salt requires baking soda to be effective. On the other hand, rock salt is said to be far more caustic and can be used efficiently with only hot water.

• Combine half a cup of table salt as well as half a cup of baking soda.
