The lithium battery in your Dyson portable or cordless vacuum should last you several years with normal use. However, using the battery for an extended period of time will deplete its capacity and necessitate replacing it. Your vacuum’s cleaning power should return when you install a replacement battery from a third-party vendor.

1. There’s a button near the cyclone head/vacuum stick junction that, when pressed, separates the two. A rechargeable battery can be found in the cyclone’s rotor head.

2. In order to use the vacuum as a handheld, switch it to the opposite side and click the clutch button located on the transparent bin. Pull the container away from the cyclone’s head gently.

3. With the handle facing you, place the vacuum on a level, stable surface. The three torque screws keeping the battery in place are accessible from this stance. On the handle, there are two screws to be found, and on the battery’s bottom, there’s a third.

4. Remove the two screws from the handle’s back using a screwdriver. The next step is to turn the vacuum over and access the battery’s underside screw by laying it on its side. The battery can be removed by unscrewing the screw and pulling it out while holding the vacuum cleaner in the same position. To remove the battery, you may have to use a little force.

5. You should be able to find two or three new replacement torque screws in your new battery. Replace the old battery by inserting the new one into the handle’s battery compartment.

6. Torque the screws that hold the battery in place. To begin, replace the two screws on the handle by first tightening the one on the underside of the battery.

7. The vacuum stick should be snapped to the appropriate end of the cyclone head after attaching the clear bin to the cyclone head. Using this method, you should be able to put your cordless Dyson back together and get it ready to be charged again. If you’re using a replacement battery, it’s advisable to charge it all the way before using the vacuum.
