Make sure you have the following items ready prior to the date:

  • 30 V lithium 2032 2 pack
  • Micro screwdriver with a small flat-head (2.5 50 millimeters).
  • The 3V lithium 2032 batteries typically are sold in a two-pack so save yourself time and trouble by replacing the battery for both fobs simultaneously.

    Step 2:

(Be certain to take off the key fob’s jacket already attached to the keys. )

Flip the fob upside down, and look for the tiny notch that is indentedly located in the middle of the fob just below”S”. By using either your fingers or on the flat end of the screwdriver push with firm pressure against the notch, then to the front of one side of the fob’s front until the cover of the battery has been removed.

    Step 3:

With the screwdriver with a flat head, gently pull the wire out from beneath the battery’s front until it comes out of the holder with a spring-loaded. Replace the battery that was used with the brand new 3-volt lithium coin by inserting it into the holder and pressing it down until it’s completely settled.

    Step 4:

Put the cover back on by sliding it back in position by sliding the “S”-end first sliding into place, then pushing back toward the top of the fob. The cover for the battery will snap into position.

    Step 5:

The final step of the procedure will be to reset the low-battery warning that is displayed on the Model S screens. By taking both fobs for the key with fresh batteries then return to your vehicle and stay in the driver’s seat until the alerts go away. If they don’t disappear after a reboot, a restart of the Model S screen will reset the alerts.

    Enjoy driving!
