Silicone is stain-resistant and easy to maintain. It does, though, require frequent cleaning to eliminate the stains and dirt that develops overnight.

Most rubber products can be cleaned with dish detergent, water, and a soft-bristle cleaning brush to remove small stains and surface grime. Using chemicals like bleach or ammonia to clean them can cause them to decay or break easily. Deeper stains can be avoided by using this moderate solution every several weeks or months.

Cleaning a rubber bottle of water with dishwashing liquid, hot water, and a scrub brush to remove germs and mold is simple as long as it is completely dried each time. If mold grows, though, one of easiest ways of cleaning a water bottle would be to mix equal amounts of distilled white vinegar and water. Pour the mixture into the bottle, cover it, mix it, and let it stay overnight to remove the mold from silicone rubber. Pour out all the liquid the very next morning, wash this with warm water, and dry it. Mold might be eliminated off silicone rubber using a baking soda and bleach mixture.

Add a small amount of bleach and baking soda to a water bottle. Before closing the bottle and letting it sit overnight, wash the top with this mixture. Take out the liquid the very next morning, put it in the dishwasher, or wash it with hot water and let it dry.
