Algae: Seeing that they are omnivorous, Zebrafish eat predominantly zooplankton, phytoplankton (including algae), tiny insects, and larvae as their primary food. If their preferred foods are not available, Zebrafish will eat small crabs and worms to supplement their diet.

Animals and Insects

The natural diet of zebrafish includes a wide variety of foods. Zebrafish feed on microscopic insects and their larvae that swim around in the water, according to the National Geographic. In addition, zebrafish consume little seeds that fall on the ground from plants. As long as they are kept in proper aquarium conditions, these fish will eat everything you put in front of them. Animals eat live food, as well as frozen and dry food. Because they are not nutritionally balanced and do not include any beneficial vitamins in sufficient quantities, the first two food groups are unable to completely meet the nutritional requirements of zebrafish. As a result, high-quality dry food is the ideal choice when it comes to feeding zebrafish.

It is worth noting that this zebrafish prefers to eat food that is on the surface of the water. It is common for them to reject anything that falls to the ground from their field of interest. Additionally, because the zebrafish’s mouth hole is so small, the meal should be of the appropriate size. Zebrafish also eat spirulina, mosquito larvae, shrimp , their babies, other fish and snails.

Plants and Fruits

They are omnivores and they eat both plants and animals they can eat a large variety of plants including planktons and fruits that may fall into the ocean.
