Yes, it is possible to consume cooking chocolate. After all, you’re likely to consume it as a by-product of recipes such as brownies, cakes, and other baked goods anyway. It’s perfectly safe to consume, but the question is whether or not you’d want to in the first place. Given how bitter some of the chocolate can be, it might be a surprise to those who are accustomed to sweet and creamy chocolate flavors. Those who do not have a sweet tooth may find it to be more appealing.

While chocolate is not particularly nutritious (due to its high cocoa content), if you’re feeling adventurous or simply curious, there is nothing wrong with driving to Walmart, shuffling through the baking aisle, picking up a bar of Ghirardelli (100 percent cacao) baking chocolate, and bite into it right away.
